Twilight & Coldplay = Awesome weekend!

So the last weekend was pretty much awesome!!!! First of all, on Friday, there was of course... TWILIGHT!!! And then Saturday we all went to the Coldplay concert! Woot woot!
I'll start with Twilight! I've read the book, and heard the hype, so I was super stoked to see the movie. I was a bit worried that it was going to be super cheesy, but it ended up being better than I thought. I'm still not too sure I like Robert Pattinson as Edward, but all in all the movie was brilliant. I will for sure go and see it again. I went with MJ and Jeremy and some peeps from the spa, it was fun to get a whole group together. People we screaming (that freaked me out a little bit), wearing Twilight t-shirts and dressing up as vampires, but it made for an entertaining night! Ah... Edward.... he makes my heart melt! LOVED IT!!!
Next to Coldplay!!! The concert was awesome! It pretty much rocked my face off! Chris Martin sure knows how to put on a great show. He kept the energy up the entire show! I was suprised at how great of an entertainer he was. And I know the question you want to ask.... did I see Gwyneth... and the answer is no! No I did not! She doesn't show up in SLC, she doesn't return my phone calls... I really need to talk to Apple and Moses about this. Their mom has totally gone AWOL!! LOL! J/k!
Being bored
Chris Martin!
The pops got the tickets and me, him, Marina, and Zach all went! So much fun! They played all the great songs and even went into the audience (near our seats... just so you know) to play some acoustic songs! We missed the first opening act and the second one was just WEIRD! I couldn't stand it!! Then it took freaking 45 minutes after the end of the act for Coldplay to come on the stage! Sheesh! But they played for a good 2 hours! So that made up for it!
Here are some great pics and vids... I know there are alot, but like I said it was AMAZING!!!!

Viva La Vida!

What to do?! Start mental breakdown right...now!

So I had a minor breakdown today! I have been so excited about the fact that I am graduating, that I didn't actually stop to think about what I am going to do after i graduate. I.E. what am I going to get my bachelors degree in? I was having problems because I couldn't choose what classes to register for next semester. I am so indecisive! I can't even pick where to sit when we go to eat at the mall! And when I can basically choose any class I want, it really made me have a mental breakdown. It got worse when I called people to ask for advice and they pretty much made the situation worse. But luckily I have 2 amazing friends that listened to my vent and helped me out. I think that I am set for next semester, and I may even have a major and minor picked out, but that may change tomorrow... But then I realized, if I do go into that field, what job am I going to be looking for? Bah! So yet another breakdown!! Sheesh! Life is soo not fun sometimes!! Why do I have to make such difficult decisions?

You're Listening to 88.1 Weber FM... KWCR FM Ogden....

So as most of you know... I have been taking a radio class at WSU! It's been great! I've got the chance to do a specialty show and talk on air and all that jazz. But I'm debating taking the class again next semester. People seem to love me (honestly who wouldn't? j/k :) But it can be a lot of work.

I thought I would post some audio clips that I have done. They are not the greatest, but I thought I would give some of you the opportunity to hear me, since some of you haven't had a chance to listen. (Kellie!) ;) But then there are some of you who listen every week, so you've probably heard it all! (Rach and Rich) :) Enjoy and let me know what you think. I tend to talk fast and jumble my words... this I know... it comes from years of watching Gilmore Girls, ha ha but still listen!

Double Double Toil and Trouble... Double Wives that is!

The Smith Family!

Don't I look happy to be a polygamist!
Since I turned a certain age, Halloween has kind of lost its appeal to me. I can't go running around outside with the young ones anymore. And if I did people would give me some really weird looks! And possibly even call the authorities on me!

When Rach told me that there was going to be a Halloween party at the Mortuary, I had a couple of different reactions. The first being yay I was invited to a party. The second being oh crap I have to dress up. I hadn't planned on dressing up until Rach got this great idea from her sister. Which was.... drum roll please.... Richard is a polygamist and we will be his wives! LOL!

Such a great idea! We went to the DI and found some awesome-tastic dresses and shoes! Good times! Plus look at our hair! lol! Love it! You can't see it, but we both have french braids in the back!!
This was actually before Halloween so this blog post is a little delayed, but still fun!!! We were a big hit at the party and honestly I couldn't stop laughing. Especially about my hair. My mommy made my hair stand up that tall! Lol! She out did herself this time!!! Yay! Happy Late Halloween to all!

J mRaZ!!

Right after she punched me. We have the alcohol bracelets just for fun!
There was no drinking!

My husband!

Oh, Jason. The way you move and sing makes my heart melt!

We're sad that the concert is over, but honestly it just looks like
I am scuzzing someone off!

Wow I can't believe that October is over and it is now November! This year has flown by so fast! School is winding down (hallelujah!) and Christmas is just around the corner (hallelujah!). So look out 2009! It's almost time! (ha that rhymed)

So this last week was my good friend Rachel Smith's b-day. Ok, well her b-day was awhile ago, but I took her out for her b-day on Tuesday! We hit the Training Table (mmmm cheese fries....) and then went to the J Mraz concert! That's right! Jason Mraz!!! I am pretty much in love with him! So I'll be honest, I totally benefited from her birthday present! Woot woot!

We had a blast even though I got punched in the face by Rachel. Yes my BFF totally clocked me! It may have been on accident, but it still happened! And then the next day she totally denied it! The nerve! :)

Here are some great pics from the concert! It totally rocked my face off! I love Jason and I love Rachel! Happy Birthday Smith! Thanks for a great time! Woot woot!!

So... I have a problem!

So I've realized I have a problem. Yes, it's true I have a flaw! And the problem is... I procrastinate! It's a disease really. I constantly put things off to the last minute. Take this last week for instance. I knew that I had to give a talk on Sunday. I knew for a whole week... I didn't start until 1 in the morning the night before and ended up finishing about 5 minutes before church started! But hey, at least I finished it.

I think the worst is with school. I can pretty much count on this always happening towards the middle of the semester. I don't want to do my work, so I pretty much don't. Ok, let me rephrase that. I don't want to do my work, so I pretty much wait until the night before it is due to start on it. I know that my grades will end up suffering, but I think I lack the drive that I did towards the beginning of the year.

I went to a concert the other night instead of writing my paper. But the good news is I finished it... the class before it was due. Yes i know! I am an idiot! But at least I know that I have a problem. That is the first step to recovery right?

MJ said the other day that I really need to work on this problem, and I think that she is right. So right now I will stop blogging and finish my English project that is due tomorrow. I only have 2 papers to write. No big deal. Well... I best be off. If you have any tips to help me with not procrastinating let me know. Feedback is much appreciated! Shalom! :)

YAY!!!

Sound the trumpets! Praise the heavens! Start the parade! Why am I so happy you ask? It's because I am no longer totally pissed off at Weber State University! That's right they accepted my math credit!! WHHHHOOOOOO HOOO!!!

As you know I was just a tad upset when they refused to give me the credit that I worked so hard to get. So I called the head of the Math department (he was a major jerk btw) and he basically said that my math wasn't good enough and refused to make an appointment with us. So... we put all the evidence in a nice little folder and dropped it off at his office (he had conveniently left for the day).

Anywho, I got an official looking letter in the mail today and it said that my math was SUFFICIENT TO SATISFY OUR QL REQUIREMENTS AT WSU!!!! YIPEE!!! The funny thing is it was signed by the Dean of the Science department, not the head of the Math department! Ha ha! (I realize he is the one that probably had the authority to write the letter, but I thought it was funny!)

So, now I am happy at the school again. There are no hard feelings. Well, as long as I still get to graduate, which I better be able to. I have all the credits I need. If not WSU can expect a smack down! (dun dun dun)

This pretty much made my day, and the fact that there is no school today either! Happy Friday to you all! Peace!!! :)

I am nerd... this I know!!

Ok... I'll admit it! I'm a dork/nerd/geek! Whatever you want to call it. But the fact of the matter is, I have accepted it and moved on. And quite frankly, you should do the same! Are you confused by what I am talking about? As if my many hobbies don't give you the first clue, here is the subject to which I am referring.

Next week a movie come out... but not just any movie.... HSM3! That's right! HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3!!! I am not ashamed! Mock if you will and judge if you must, but I do not hear your remarks! Because let's face it, this movie is going to be huge! It has already broken box office records in the UK and the movie hasn't even come out yet. Also, the first 2 movies broke cable TV records. So take that and put it in your pocket!!

Not only is Zac Efron quite the leading man (if I could steal him away from Vanessa Hudgen's I totally would...) but he has a nice little singing voice as well.

But Rachel, isn't High School Musical a kids movie? NO! it most certainly is not!! It is a family friendly joy ride that can be enjoyed by all. It may be targeted to the tween audience, but I can guarantee that there will be many 20 somethings at the movie as well.

But Rachel, isn't the movie is cheesy? And to those of you who ask this I say, yes YES it is! And that is why it has become so popular! Because it's cheese factor is one of the highest!

But Rachel, the music and dance moves suck! WHAT?! Who ever says this needs to say that to my face! I will sing "Breaking Free" and "We're All in This Together" at the top of my lungs and then you will change your mind!!!
But Rachel, why are you blogging about this? Well... that is a good question. I am blogging about this because on my radio show tonight, I was made fun of shamelessly be the other 2 boys! This blog is proof that I will not back down! I will stand tall against adversity and will prevail to the end!!!
So pretty much I am super stoked for this movie. I am planning on going with some of my peeps and if anyone would like to tag along you are totally welcome to come! Just give me the heads up!
And if there is someone out there that has no idea what movie I am talking about... well... what rock have you been living under? Here is the trailer to help you understand. Be prepared for some pretty sweet moves and some cheesy moments. My fav is when she stands up in the middle of the crowd! Lol! It's gonna be great! :)

Conference Weekend was fun? Why yes... yes it was!

Wow, Richard is a guitar pro!

That is me! And that is Michaela!

Rachel Smith and Rachel Jenkins. When our powers combine we are "The Rachel's"

Basically our personalities in a nutshell!

So apparently when you get really stressed out... you get sick. Who knew? Still no word on whether this whole thing with Weber State is going to work out (see previous post if you are confused), but I am confident that it will. I have lots of evidence to back up my case.

So, back to being sick. It sucks. I sound like a man! And it is hard to get to sleep when your throat is hurting. Hopefully I won't contaminate anybody. All I can say is Clorox wipes are your friend!

Well, before the whole fiasco of me being mad at my school, I had a great weekend with my peeps. (Yes, the same 2 peeps that I have blogged about before!) Saturday Rach and I went to Mimi's and got a bite to eat and then took a muffin to MJ at work since she was unable to join us for the fun filled evening. After, we went to her house and watched a movie while her husband went to Priesthood session.

When Richard came home he tried to make some sticky popcorn for us... tried being the key word. It was, shall we say, interesting. But it was the thought that counts right?

Sunday we all went over to MJ's to watch General Conference. It was so much fun! Who knew that conference could be fun? I think that is the first time ever... EVER that I have actually sat through an entire session of conference and payed attention. Rich and Rach dosed off for a bit, but they regained consciousness in time to hear the closing remarks by the great President Monson.

I loved it. I actually watched some of Saturday's session and a little bit of the first session on Sunday before MJ's. I can't wait for the Ensign to come out so that I can catch up on the talks that I missed. Wow, I am becoming so righteous! ha ha! :)

After, the famous Richard Smith showed off his mad skills (again) on the guitar. I was able to show some of my skills too, but he just made me feel inferior. (Richard I shake my fist at you!) It was fun! We took some pics while we were at it too, just to prove that we are actually friends... I look like crap in these pics... it's because the sickness that has now taken over my body was making it's way to the surface... I should have known... ok I am done rambling! Until next time my friends! WORD! :)

WTF WSU!?!

Ok another freaking blog about school. First of all, I have no idea what to do on my homework! Freaking English! What in the world am I going to do this project on? I can't concentrate!!!! I am so lost and really don't feel like doing this. I am getting to the point that I usually get to around the middle of the semester where I procrastinate so bad that I get depressed and then nothing gets done right... or on time!

The thing that is really bothering me is WSU! That's right the stupid administration at Weber State University!!!! I went to an academic advisor earlier in the week to see if I was all set to graduate, and she said that everything looks good. All they were waiting for was the department heads to look at my transcripts and make a decision. She even said that I should have nothing to worry about and that I should expect to graduate in December. So all this week I was super stoked because I was planning to graduate. NOW, I look at my transcripts and it says that my math from MTSU will only transfer as Intermediate Algebra, when I need college algebra to graduate. WTF!!! The thing that I don't get is the class title from MTSU is college algebra! I just don't understand how you go from a class that was CLEARLY college algebra to intermediate algebra! I am not going to take another math class when I took it 2 times last year to get a better grade!

I am so pissed right now! What the H is going on with Weber?! Why won't they just accept it? Me and my dad are going to talk to them tomorrow and see what they say. I will even show them the course description from the MTSU catalog and see what they say then! I am really hoping that I can get this fixed! I DO NOT want to take another math class when I have already taken it 3 times (I'm not the brightest when it come to math...)

This sucks! I had an amazing day watching conference with my friends (I'll post on that later) and hanging out with Rach and Michaela... this is not the way I wanted to night to end! Grrr... I am so bugged. We are for sure going to appeal and do all we can to show that they are wrong! I am hoping that it'll get changed! If not then you can probably expect another very angry blog!!!

The movie night that wasn't and Mojo's!

Rach, Me, Michaela after the non-movie night.

So Thursday night Michaela (MJ), Rach and I had planned on having a girls night and watching Penelope, but alas that did not happen, well the movie anyways. We all brought something to eat, Rach and her scrumptious choco cookies and MJ and her little smokies and pizza. (no one ate my food) So instead of watching the movie, we talked for over 4 hours! Ha ha! No guy is capable of doing that. It was awesome! Oh and I almost died when Michaela's cat lunged at me! Scary!

MJ and Jeremy!

Rach... pretty sure she is gonna hurt me for posting this pic! Ha!
The band with no name.

Then if 4 hours on Thursday wasn't enough, we (MJ and her husband Jeremy, me, Rach and Rich) all headed out to Richard's (Rachel's Husband) show at Mojo's on Friday! It totally rocked my face off!! My fav is when they played the Mission Impossible Theme! It was fun to hang out at the show, but the Emo kids started to get on my nerves towards the end.

After, we headed to Jake's Over the Top for shakes and cheese fries! Yum! Poor Richard got a gross shake and didn't eat any of it, but MJ gave her's to him. That is friendship right there. We talked for about an hour (I was totally the 5th wheel, but still fun!) and then we headed our separate ways. It was soooo much fun!!! I love those girls! Thanks for 2 great nights in a row!! :)

Homework... I think not!

Ok, so I am sitting here trying to do my homework, and I realize I can't focus. Or better yet, I don't want to do my homework, so I won't focus! How bad is it that it is the end of the 3rd week of school and I am already procrastinating? I really need to pull myself together. I am never going to graduate if I keep going at this rate! But, I did have an awesome pedicure today, by the wonderful Christi. And Jessica and I got our feet burned by the paraffin it was awesome. Although I was hoping to get a massage, but we won't get into that.

So that brings me back to the fact that I don't want to do work. My classes are awesome and I really enjoy them, but the whole learning and having to do homework thing... yeah I'm not too big on that one. I asked my friend Shannon why I go to school... and she says its to get a better job that pays more then the one I have now and it all makes sense to me!

Ok, I guess I better do my homework! Even though I am not happy about it! But I do love Weber State! They better win the Homecoming game on Sat. Y'all should go! :) Go big Weeb!

Stand Up to Cancer!

There was a special the other night called Stand Up to Cancer. It was a telethon that raised money for cancer research to find a cure. Many celebrities helped host, donated money, and even told their own stories. It was very emotional for me to watch. I found this video on iTunes and it made me cry.

It made me remember everything that I went through. I can't believe it has been 5 years. It was 6 months of absolute hell, but I am still here. My friend asked me the other day how I was able to stay positive with all the I had to deal with, I told her that you have to. Because if you give up then you have nothing left to fight for. I want to to say thank you to everyone who helped me get through the rough patch. I literally wouldn't be here today without you. Lots of love and God Bless! I AM A SURVIVOR!

You can give back by visiting www.standup2cancer.org or just by giving support to those that you know that have been effected by it.

One Tree Hill Partay!

Ok, well the premiere of One Tree Hill has rolled around yet again, and Rachel Smith and I had the brilliant idea of having a gathering of sorts. So we invited a whole bunch of people (ok like 10) and we had a decent turn out of 6. The guest list included me, Rachel Smith, Megan Smith (don't know her married name), Shannon Roe, Sarah Lebo, and Michaela Johnson! It was awesome-tastic! We swapped some stories (my terrible date, and the popcorn burning incident!), had some popcorn, and Sarah and Shan brought the dew and the chocolate!!! We watched the finale and then followed it up with the premiere! It was sooo much fun! I love being able to hang out with my friends! I hope to do it again soon. Michaela and I totally forgot to take pics so all I have to show is a OTH poster, but still, it was an awesome time! :)

Happy Birthday Grandma!

The Jenkins Family!

Zoolander...

Me and Daddy

The Jenkins Men

Me and Grandma

Preston is ducking so he is as tall as us.

Um...

Happy Birthday Grandma!

On August 31st we celebrated Eleanor Jenkins' 80th birthday! It was so much fun. All of my Aunts and Uncles were there and almost all of my cousins. The cousins sang 2 primary songs, one that I have never heard before, but I think it went really well. After, we showed a video of her life, put together by April. It was awesome! I almost cried. (I cry a lot!)

We mingled, ate food, and had some good times. Me and the bro's took some crazy pics! All in all it was a success. I love being able to spend time with the Jenkins family. I love them all and I don't get to see them near enough. Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you! :)

Why?/Louder Than Words

Why is it that somethings come easier to some then it does to others?

Why can some people not put their whole heart into something and still get by looking great, but the people who do try, who do give their all, fall short?

Why is it that I can meet someone and instantly be best friends with that person; it just comes natural and easy, but when I have known someone my whole life, I have to work at the relationship?

Why is it that when I am surrounded by people that I know and love, I feel safe? But why is it when I am surrounded by the people I know and love is when I feel the most vulnerable?

Why is it that someone can instantly forgive the people who wronged them, while others will hold a grudge for years?

Why is it that when we are instructed not to do something, is the time where we actually start to think about doing it?

Why.... a lot of things....

I know this is a little deeper then I usually get in my everyday conversations, but I was just thinking. :) It actually reminds me of a song. Here are the lyrics. It really makes you think...
(and don't worry I'm not depressed or anything! lol! I was just in a deep mood)

Louder Than Words

Why do we play with fire? Why do we run our finger through the flame?
Why do we leave our hand on the stove, although we know we're in for some pain?
Oh why do we refuse to hang a light, when the streets are dangerous?
Why does it take an accident before the truth gets through to us?

Cages or wings? Which do you prefer? Ask the birds
Fear or love? Baby don't say the answer
Actions speak louder than words

Why should we try to be our best, when we can just get by and still gain?
Why do just nod our heads, although we know the boss is wrong as rain?
Why should we blaze a trail when the well worn path seems safe and so inviting? How as we travel can we see the dismay and keep from fighting?

Cages or wings? Which do you prefer? Ask the birds
Fear or love? baby don't say the answer
Actions speak louder than words

What does it take, to wake up a generation?
How can you make someone take off and fly?
If we don't wake up and shake up the nation
we'll leave the dust of the world wondering why

Why do we stay with lovers, who we know down deep, just aren't right?
Why would we rather put ourselves through hell, then sleep alone at night?
Why do we follow leaders who never lead?
Why does it take catastrophe to start a revolution?
If we're so free, tell me why, someone tell me why, so many people bleed?

Cages or wings? Which do you prefer? Ask the birds
Fear or love? baby don't say the answer
Actions speak louder than words

From Russia with love!

Peterhof Palace.

The fountains of Peterhof.

At a bar... pretty much the way I spent the entire trip!

At Sony BMG! Yes... I do know that I look like crap...

St. Petersberg! Look at the pretty colors!

I took this pic myself... can you tell? Sunset of St. P!

The girls acting like...well... girls.

St. Basil's Cathedral!

In the Kremlin.

A view without me!

The coolest non-boy band pic ever!

This is the way my group spent the entire trip! Yes... that is vodka!

I just recently got back from Russia where I spent 2 weeks in Moscow and St. Petersberg! (Have you heard there is a rumor in St. Petersberg?!) It was a study abroad through my school in Tennessee. So, yes, that is right I did get college credit for going! :) We learned all about the Russian recording industry, and did a ton of sight seeing too! I loved it! Things were interesting... and different, but all in all it was a good experience!

We started off in Moscow and we there for about 9 days! It's a great place, but when you have no idea what people are saying and what anything says, it is a little confusing. We hit Red Square, the Kremlin, Lenin's Tomb. We also went to a Universal Party, tried to get into a fancy club (and got rejected...twice!), met executives at Sony BMG, and went on a tour of some recording studios! It was awesome! We just going and going, I really didn't have to process what was going on, but we saw a lot of great things.

We took a night train to St. Petersberg and the whole time I was thinking about the movie Anastasia where the little green goblin guys attack the train... I don't know why, but i was! Things were a lot more laid back here. We had time to hit an internet cafe (which was great, because I was going insane) and did tons of touristy stuff. We saw the bridges of St. Pete's, Peterhof palace, and the Hermitage! I was the only sober one the entire trip, that was an interesting experience!

That's right.... I AM STARTING A BLOG!!!!

Ok so it is official... I've decided to conform to the masses and start a blog. Rachel Smith has been going on and on about her blog and now Jenn Schiller has told me that all the cool kids are doing it... so... that is right I guess I am one of the cool kids! What exactly I am going to write about I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure it will be awesome! Mostly likely I will ramble on and on about movies and TV shows and the like, because really that is all I do anyway! But it'll be fun! There will be some laughs and possibly some tears, but i am sure that we will all leave my blog feeling like a better person and maybe you would even feel inspired... ok I have no idea what I am talking about so I guess I better end this one while I am ahead!
